As someone who is new to sandtray, I appreciated all the details about set up as well as using the online tool. It was very practical and the prompts handout is a big help.
The course is very applicable to how therapy is being conducted (e.g., virtually versus in-person). I like how the course was structured. It was simple and practical.
It was a detailed step by step approach to all aspects, but in particular the online sand tray (which is a new concept for me). I found all explanations clear and grounded in theory. This course was recommended to me by my supervisor and I would not hesitate to recommend it myself. It has given me the confidence to expand my practice into sand tray. I also appreciated the low price, which made it accessible for me. Thank you.
It was fairly quick so that I could get the information that I needed in order to use the online sandtray. I also got more information regarding theory, approach and specific techniques which was very informative. The actual client work was very interesting to observe. So symbolic!
Excellent presentation...the theory, how to use the "instrument" (the tray, the toys), the demonstration of the technology issues related to online, and the final demo showing the application and the clinical material that is collected and processed. Marvelous.
I loved both demonstrations. I work in person with young children and their parents (dyadic therapy) so it was helpful to see the one with "real" puppets. It was also great to see the other as well. It seems like in the end it's less about puppets but about an externalized figure to help the client express themselves. This was wonderful though - thank you for providing a low-cost training that was actually very rich and provided a lot of inspiration. Viva, Violet! Thank you Karen.
So much content for the price and really complemented the sandtray work I’d done elsewhere (Synergetic Play Therapy certification).
I liked the demonstration with the client so I could really see how it works online. Great online tool! Thank you! I've been missing my sand tray and now I don't have to!!!
This course was practical and applicable to my practice. It was informative, speaker was knowledgeable on subject matter and it was very straightforward. I specifically appreciated the demonstrations throughout the different developmental stages.
I liked that you provided a full explanation of how to use the online application within the Zoom framework as well as exploring how you would use the sand tray online as well as in person. I found watching the session offered with the young girl very helpful. Thank you
I loved seeing how you have your sand tray stuff arranged in your office and to see the mobile sand tray you have. I also appreciated observing how you interact with the child to help them express about their work, and your handout regarding possible prompts to give the child to start.
Very clearly presented and the mechanics of the approach was explained well so that I feel quite confident in trying it out. I enjoyed seeing the method played out as a demo I am very impressed that sandtray is able to be conducted as a digital version and can see me using it with children who love playing on computers. I appreciate this being available. Thank you.
I love this format and would take other courses on anything.
That it broke down all the components of utilizing the sand tray method within your practice.
Practical applications, listings of potential prompts, demonstrations with various ages and needs, processing of demonstrations, snippets of question-and-answers from course participants
I appreciated the specific prompts and ways to deal with children w/ a variety of diagnoses (ADHD, Autism, trauma)
The demonstrations were SO helpful!
I loved learning the Oaklander technique of "If I was the ___" and talking from the perspective of the object, relating to the other objects and creating a story.
That I can use the dollhouse app with adults as well as children
I loved the prompt ideas and the in-depth demonstrations.
I appreciated the large number of examples for a variety of clients. It helped me to understand how to implement the material.
Break up of the sections that allowed to finish in a flexible way.
I like that the puppets allow children to express themselves.
It provides an interactive option which seems to prove interesting to participants while creating the opportunity for the counselor to gain insight into the student (for school guidance purposes).
The way people of all ages can relate to this and it can be used to begin to understand the client.
How transferrable the course is to many different populations.
to learn the approach of the violet oaklander method, and the difference with the approach in play therapy... super practical to see Karen using the approach
I especially enjoyed the elements that talked about puppet use in person.
the possibility to use with children, adults, families, in supervision, versatility!
