Sand Tray Part II:

This course is a follow up to our first Sand Tray course, Sand Tray: Using the Oaklander Model. We've incorporated many of the questions and feedback received from the 1000+ students enrolled in our original Sand Tray course.

This course includes:

• An introduction to using sand tray as a therapeutic tool with the Oaklander Model.
• An interview with Violet Oaklander on the use of Sand Tray in Gestalt Play Therapy.
• Three demonstrations using the Sand Tray with children featuring follow up questions & answers and reflections from Dr. Karen Fried.
• A demonstration using the Sand Tray with a family with a follow up reflection from Dr. Karen Fried.
• A demonstration using the Sand Tray with an adult with a reflection from Dr. Karen Fried.
• Bonus office tour: using a sand tray in the office.
  

After completing this course you will have a deeper understanding of how to use the sand tray with Gestalt Play Therapy using the Oaklander Model.

In addition to the course content, we've included several resources including handouts from Healing Through Play Using the Oaklander Model: A Guidebook for Therapists and Counselors Working with Children, Adolescents and Families featuring prompts, observations & responses, and a list of resources and steps to build your own sand tray. As an added bonus for Part II, we're also including our Sand Tray Note Taking form.

Note: All demonstrations are solely for educational use and do not include actual clients. All participants (and where applicable, their guardians) have agreed to be recorded with full knowledge that the recordings will be shared for training & educational purposes.

This course qualifies for one hour of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs and LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as well as continuing education credit towards Certification from the Violet Solomon Oaklander Foundation.
