Oaklander Training is pleased to introduce our newest Healing Through Play trainings on Teachable.
Healing Through Play courses continue Violet Oaklander's tone of fun, effective, and experiential training for therapists working with children, adolescents, and their families.
Our course lessons include a combination of theory, application, and demonstrations which can be utilized in Gestalt Therapy with children, psychotherapy with children, and play therapy. Each course utilizes tools and interventions for use in therapy with children and adolescents, and features a variety of materials including drawing, puppets, clay, sand tray, picture cards, and more!
All courses are eligible for continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs and LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as well as continuing education credit towards Certification from the Violet Solomon Oaklander Foundation. (CEU Provider #133907 - Karen Fried, LMFT)

Karen Fried, Psy.D., LMFT
Karen Fried, Psy.D., M.F.T. is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and an Educational Therapist in Santa Monica, California. She has a private practice in Psychotherapy and is Co-Director of the K&M Center. Inc., a learning center. Karen uses the Oaklander Model of Child Therapy in her practice and is the President of the Violet Solomon Oaklander Foundation. She trains child and adolescent therapists in this model in the US and internationally.
In response to COVID-19, Karen presented an article series to an international audience of child and adolescent therapists: “Just for Now, Using the Oaklander Model in a Time of Crisis” on a zoom call. Therapists and counselors from over 30 countries participate on this monthly call. Karen has presented to global audiences, trainings, presentations, and consultation on the use of Gestalt Therapy with children. She recently published Healing Through Play Using the Oaklander Model: A Guidebook for Therapists and Counselors Working with Children, Adolescents and Families with Christine McKenna, LMFT, LPCC. In addition to her trainings and Just for Now meetings, Karen developed onlinesandtray.com, a free online sand tray used by thousands of therapists world-wide.
